Bennett

Bennett Rothenberg

Bennett is an avid entrepreneur with a passion for creating social based applications that allow people to find and interact with others in new, innovative ways. At 18 he left his childhood home in Silicon Valley to attend school at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he earned a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. After graduating, age 21, Bennett moved to Chicago to take a job in systems integration with a large consulting firm. At 22 and 3/4th Bennett cofounded Quaffic with Eric and Greg.

Bennett was the founder of the startup Bizclap (no not a social network for people with STDs) for which he took third place in the Burrill Business Plan competition and is an active member of the Chicago startup community. He is a student of startups and hates nothing more than that feeling of “oh that’s a great idea…why didn’t I think of that?”

Bennett has never ever lost a game of Egyptian War, he dislikes pickles to the point where he can be found quarantining the section of fries that smell of or contain pickle juice, and has a knack for annoying people by adding his own lyrics to songs.

Greg

Greg Loesch

Greg is an OSU grad and software engineer who frequently surprises people by his 100% accurate claim to be half-Korean. This is usually followed by disappointment as he shares the news that he cannot speak Korean. He has a compulsion to abstract any remotely complex thing to a simple concept in order to wrap his head around it. Though sometimes considered a pessimist by Bennett, Greg considers himself more of a viability filter. He relishes the chance to dig into the design aspects of applications/websites and needs to be frequently reminded that if text fields and labels are misaligned by a pixel, it’s usually OK in a prototype. In his spare time, he enjoys practicing his pronunciation of the word synecdoche.

Eric

Eric Perry

Eric spends most of his free time being awesome. He grew up in Mentor, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University in Columbus receiving a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering. He was first introduced to the world of Groovy and Grails after a Co-Op with CAS in Columbus, and has been in love with the framework ever since. With an offer from Lockheed Martin, Eric moved out to the Washington, DC area and currently lives in Bethesda, MD. Greg decided to contact Eric about a position on the Quaffic team after seeing his incredible performance in their senior design class. Greg was also impressed with Eric’s ability to stop in the middle of a sentence and forget what he was talking about because he’s too busy coding.

Eric accepted the offer with one stipulation: at one point the team will hire Justin Timberlake to say, “A million dollars isn’t cool. You know what’s cool? A billion dollars.”
